Week 1

haha, it is actually week 9 - but I just got my computer back and needed to update my blog.  I have a very sweet class this year, there are just so many of them.  I am having  a hard time getting everything done in a day.  Thankfully, I have some really great moms that come in and help me.

*I am not sure where I got the projects exactly, but will look them up at school.  I just need to update before it is December, giggle.

Ok, my desk hasn't looked this good since the first week of school.  It is a disaster at the moment.
The file thingy, on the corner of my desk, to keep me organized.
Four milk crates, zip tied together that hold their daily binders, poetry journals and their new book bags (I just finished).  I love these crates.  I bought 16 of them and it was worth every penny.

Our "No, David" pictures.  Some of them are a little more interesting than others.  I love this clothesline that I have hanging in my classroom.  It really showcases their work nicely.  The problem is - this project hung down a little too far and I kept hitting them, since I am so tall.

Our writing wall - The First Day of First Grade.  I have taken these off and put them in binders for a class book.  At the end of the year, I will give each student their individual papers.

Chicka, Chicka wall.  I always do this the first day of school.  It really shows me cutting skills, coloring, following directions and if they know their name.  I will post more tomorrow

Missing

I haven't blogged in awhile, but I have an excuse. I have a laptop and a desktop and neither one of them are cooperating with me. The laptop won't let me go on blogger or comment on anyone's posts or Paypal, etc. It had to be fixed and the settings didn't get restored correctly. The person that fixed it won't return my phone calls, grrr.

Now, my desktop won't let me go on the Internet at all. It freezes up. This morning, I tried to play with some pictures and they weren't there. Gone. So I had a crying fit. Luckily, everyone was still asleep. I am back to blogging on my iPad, which can be a pain because of the picture thing.

I have done some really cool things at school and hopefully I will be able to post about them very soon. I can't believe I will be starting week 8 tomorrow. The next month will be crazy busy. Lots of district assessments, parent conferences, grades, three baby showers, new grand son, grand daughter's luau and hubby coming home for a month. The last three things will be my favorite.

I took my grand daughters to the beach yesterday so we could take pictures. We had so much fun. One of my favorites of the birthday girl.

Hawaii, again

I am in Hawaii for a long weekend. I was missing my husband and feather lei graduation was this Sunday. So, I took a couple of personal days and flew in yesterday.  So excited to see my hubby, I guess I miss him more than I thought.  It will be a busy weekend. I have some shopping to do for my classroom and lots of cooking for the luau tomorrow. But, so glad that I am here

Twins

I found out that I am going to be a grandmother to twins. I am Tigger excited. A little worried because their mom is only 5'2" and my son is 6'4". But I know she will take care of herself. When they were pregnant earlier this year I told them they were going to have twins - but the baby never developed and they lost it. I was heart broken. Two weeks ago they found out they were pregnant again and I cried hysterically - happy, scared crying.

They went to the doctor yesterday. One sack and two healthy heartbeats. I want to go shopping and make things but I have to wait for a few months. I am not a patient person unless it is in my classroom. They have boys' names picked out already. I am going to have three grand babies in one school year. Amazing

Inclement Weather

Yup, two weeks of inclement weather with 29 new first graders - this teacher is exhausted. I know you all know the feeling.  I have been at school every day until after 5 getting things done.

I love my sweet class (there is a lot of them) but we will get it figured out.  After lunch the first day, about 4 kids put their backpacks on.  I couldn't figure out what they were doing (I was tired).

"Why, do you have your backpack on," I said.

One of my cuties said, "it is time to go home."

I said, "not yet, we still have 3 hours."

Cutie said, "Are you kidding me?"

Sorry babe, if I have to stay - so do you.  Too funny, figured out he was morning kinder.  He is adorable.

My son is kidnapping me, at the moment.  We are heading to the beach for dinner and a walk.  I think he is tired of seeing his mom at the dining room table working on school goodies every night, lol

I have more pictures to post of my room - will do it tomorrow.  Enjoy your Saturday.   Oh, I also spent way too much money at the TpT sale last weekend, geez. Good thing hubby is in Hawaii.

Monday Make-it

I have been busy getting my classroom together this week.  I made a classroom blog, Mrs. Sasaki's Amazing Kids.  Ok, I didn't really make it - Barb from Ruby Slippers Blog Designs made it.  But, I did pick out the paper that I wanted for the blog AND love everything she did.  So I did do something.  If you need a blog or a blog redesign - check her out.  She is wonderful plus, she can read minds.

Today, is the first day of school.  I hope the weather cools down a bit.  I did mention that I will have 30 first graders - didn't I.
